ECLECTIC STRINGS 

ECLECTIC STRINGS is a concert featuring 4 unique artists performing solo sets, and finishing up with a jam session at the end.

The first scheduled Concert is to be held at THE SINGING GALLERY on Main Street of McLAREN VALE on SATURDAY FEB 20th. 7.30 for 8pm start. 

The line up features
Jamie McPherson - Folk Rock singer/songwriter and balladeer

Andy Salvanos - Australia's premier Chapman Stick player

Rob McDade - Guitar, looping and vocals

Paddy Montgomery - Guitar, Gouzouki , multi-instrumentalist

Three of the artists are already veterans of the Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

Entry is $15 ea. / $10 concession.

Tables of 5 can be booked for $60.

  Aldinga Bay Community Carols Choir

                        

Once again the Aldinga Bay Community Carols Choir will be performing at the Aldinga Bay Community Carols on Symonds Reserve on Sunday 20th December 2009.  



The choir itself is community based, and come together each year to perform and to lead the community singing at the Aldinga Bay Community Carols event.

Stephen Urmston is looking for more people to join with the choir. He says, 'The great thing about this choir is that it is an opportunity for people who like singing… and no musical experience is required'.

The choir rehearse every Sunday afternoon at 1pm, at the Aldinga Primary school, on Quinliven Rd, Aldinga Beach.

The fifth South Australian Writers’ Festival once again celebrates SA writers, illustrators and their work. The festival combines our wonderful lifestyle withquality experiences for readers and writers alike.

Sally Heinrich will be at Aldinga library presenting a workshop on how to write for children. She is the author and illustrator of a wide range of children’s books who will provide you with inspiration and practical knowledge on how to write for children. So if you have ever thought about a career as a children’s author or illustrator come along and hear what Sally has to say.

 StageWRite Performance Writing Sessions

 

StageWRite will be presenting a series of performance writing sessions in 2009, at the Aldinga Community Centre, beginning in March. Each session will be hosted by StageWRite performance writers who will be joined by other performance professionals, (directors, performance artists, designers and technicians), to help session participants produce their own piece of performance writing for stage, screen or multi-media. Only $10 per session.
